‘하늘은 스스로 돕는 자를 돕는다’라는 격언이 있다. 하늘이 감동 할 만큼의 노력을 하면 하늘이 도와 성공하게 만든다는 뜻으로도 해석할 수 있다. 월간 파워코리아에서 취재하는 대다수의 성공한 CEO들은 요행이나 운이 아닌 피나는 자신의 노력으로 숱한 고난과 역경을 헤쳐 나가며, 자신의 분야에서 확고한 입지를 다져나가고 있다. 이번 8월호에서는 남들이 꺼려하는 분야에서 지치지 않는 열정과 피땀 어린 헌신으로 순대제조업계의 분야1위를 달리고 있는 (주)진성F&B의 박진덕 대표를 만나 그의 성공스토리와 키워드에 대해서 들어보았다. 

절대적 가난을 탈피하기 위한 끊임없는 노력이 현재를 만들어

(주)진성F&B의 박진덕 대표는 아직 50세가 되지 않은 젊은 CEO다. 그의 얼굴과 미소에는 여유가 흐르고 있었지만, 전형적인 대기만성형의 자수성가한 CEO로 젊은 시절 수많은 시련과 고생을 이겨냈다. 그의 시련은 태어나서 부터였다고 한다. 유년시절은 배움과 배고픔에서 자유롭지 못했으며, 그러한 시련은 어린 박 대표에게 인생의 결정을 빨리 하게 만들었다. 청소년이 되자 박 대표는 성공하기 위해서 어떻게 해야 할 것인가를 선택했고, 공부를 통한 성공대신 남이 하지 않은 분야를 통해 최선을 다해보기로 다짐했다. 그 후 17살 때 곧바로 서울로 상경해 식품과 관련된 제조업에서 일을 하기 시작했고, 23살이 되는 해에 남들이 꺼려하는 냄새나고 힘든 순대제조업을 하게 된다. 몇 년의 시간이 흐른 후 박 대표는 드디어 1997년 32살의 나이에 한 기업의 CEO로 ‘부광식품’을 창업했다. 당시 지친 몸을 이끌고 순대배달을 하면서 교통사고도 몇 차례나 났었지만, 천운으로 가벼운 상처만나고 크게 다친 적이 없다고 말했다. 박 대표는 자신의 몸이 남아나지 않을 정도의 피 나는 노력을 통해서 조금씩 회사를 성장시켰고 2009년 ‘진성식품’이란 이름으로 사업자명의를 변경한 뒤부터 업계에서 크게 두각을 나타내기에 이른다. 시장의 주목의 받으면서부터 진성식품은 갑자기 규모가 커지기 시작했는데 그 당시 공장과 부지를 70평에서 1000평으로 너무 크게 늘려 새로운 거래처와 계약을 성사시키지 못하면 회사가 운영될 수 없는 존폐의 위기에 처하게 됐었다. 박 대표는 당시 대형 떡복이 프렌차이즈 전문점인 A업체와의 거래를 성사시켜야만 했지만 정상적은 루트로는 만날 수조차 없었다. 고심을 거듭하던 박 대표는 단무지 제조공장인 B업체를 담당자와 친분이 있었고, 어렵사리 A업체의 회사로 들어가 담당자한테 자신의 손을 보여주며 믿고 거래해 달라고 요청했다. 진심은 통한다고 한 달이 흐르자 A업체에서 거래를 승낙했고 회사는 대형 프렌차이즈 업체인 A회사에게 물량을 대면서 손익분기점을 넘어, 가파르게 성장했다. 박 대표는 항상 위기를 기회로 삼아 자신이 할 수 있는 최선을 다해 위기를 극복하고 현재 업계1위인 (주)진성F&B을 탄생시켰다. 

11가지의 특징 있는 순대를 주력으로 생산해내며

HACCP(해썹) 인증으로 과학적인 위생관리체계 갖춰 

(주)진성F&B의 순대들은 박 대표의 기발하고 혁신적인 생각들이 녹아있다. 시장에서 쉽사리 맛볼 수 없는 맛을 가진 상품들인데 박 대표는 비용의 과감한 투자를 하고 재료와 양념을 아낌없이 사용하여 다양한 제품의 순대들을 생산하고 있다. 같은 재료를 쓰더라도 과정을 다르게 하여 고급스럽고 기품 있는 맛을 내고 있는 것이다. 주요생산제품들은 너른골찰순대, 아바이찰순대, 고향순대, 박진덕순대, 매운찰순대, 너른골토종순대, 우거지순대, 매운우거지순대, 아바이왕순대, 아비이소순대, 너른골피순대, 등 11가지의 순대들이며 이외 돼지머리, 냉동곱창, 족발류 등 다양하다. 박 대표는 같은 재료를 쓰더라도 과정을 다르게 하여 고급스럽고 기품 있는 맛을 내고 있는 것이 자사의 장점이라고 설명했다. 이렇게 미묘한 맛의 차이는 진성F&B가 시장의 20%가 넘는 점유율을 차지하게 만든 가장 큰 이유다. 또한 회사는 지난 7월14일 식품의약품안전처로부터 HACCP(해썹) 인증을 받았다. HACCP는 위해 방지를 위한 사전 예방적 식품안전관리체계를 의미하는 말로 전세계적으로 가장 효과적이고 효율적인 식품안전관리체계로 인정받고 있다. 즉, (주)진성F&B가 소비자에게 안전하고 깨끗한 제품을 공급하며 위 사항을 세계적으로 인정하는 체계로 검증되었다는 것을 의미한다. 

사람을 먼저 생각하는 기업, 내수시장을 넘어 세계시장 진출도 노려 

어려운 시절을 보냈던 박 대표는 직원을 중요시하고 복지에 힘쓰는 사람경영을 하고있다. 먼저 외국인과 한국인을 차별하지 않아 급여부분에서도 동등하며, 직급 또한 평등하게 일의 숙련도와 근무한 날짜에 맞게 인사를 진행한다. 그리고 자체 기숙사를 운영하고 있는데 쾌적한 시설과 설비를 갖추고 2인1실로 숙식하고 있으며, 식사도 하루 총 4회를 제공하고 있다. 박 대표의 사람경영은 작은 배려에도 묻어나 있는데, 외국근로자들을 위한 식당오픈을 매휴일마다 하여 휴일에 그들의 고향음식을 다 같이 모여 먹을 수 있도록 하고 있다. 

박 대표는 국내에서는 앞으로 순대제조업에서 그치지 않고 순대국밥 프렌차이즈 개설을 올해 안으로 목표를 삼고 있으며, 해외수출을 위한 신제품개발에도 박차를 가해 내년에 진출할 방침을 밝혔다. 박 대표는 순대제조업의 열악한 상황을 개선하기 위한 방편으로 정부에서 현재 농축산에 적용되는 세금혜택을 순대제조업에도 적용토록 해야 한다는 조언도 아끼지 않았다. 지금까지 회사의 위기가 닥칠 때마다 박 대표는 최선두에서 앞장서 살신성인하며 위기를 극복해왔다. 앞으로 그 어떠한 위기가 또 찾아와도 지금까지 늘 해온 것처럼 위기를 극복하고 지금보다 더 발전할 것이다. “하늘이 감동할 만큼 노력하면 세상에 못 이룰 것은 없다”고 말하는 박 대표. 그의 말은 성공에 목말라 있는 현대인들에게 간단하지만 굵은 메시지를 던져주고 있다. 과연 하늘이 감동할 만큼의 노력을 해본 적이 있는가? 라는 질문을 말이다.

  An old saying goes that "Heaven helps those who help themselves." It can be interpreted as the meaning that if you try enough to impress the heaven, and then  the heaven helps you to succeed. The majority of successful CEOs who Monthly Power Korea is covering have been establishing a solid foothold in their field, overcoming numerous hardships and adversity with their blood, sweat, and tears, not a fluke or luck. In this August issue we met CEO Park Jindeok of Jinseong F&B Inc, in the field others are reluctant with a tireless passion and commitment, being ranked No. 1 in the field of manufacturing Sundae, Korean Sausage, and listened    the his success stories and key words. 

Ceaseless efforts has made what I am and have to escape absolute poverty  

  CEO Park Jindeok of Jinseong F&B Inc is the young CEO less than 50 years old. The free was flowing on his face and smile, but he is a typical late bloomer as a self-made CEO and overcame a lot of trial and suffering when he was young. His trials stated when he was born. He was not free from hunger and childhood learning and such trials made the young representatives make a quick decision to his life. When he became youth, representative Park chose what he had to do and he pledged to do his best through the areas others didn't walk on not through  the study. When he was 17, he immediately started to Seoul, and began to work related to food, manufacturing industry. When he was 23, he started to work in making Sundae others are reluctant to, due to the tough smell and hard work. A few years later he finally at the age 32, established 'Bu Gwang Food' as CEO of the Company. With his weary body he was delivering Sundae, suffered several traffic accidents, but by good luck he had only light scratches, had not greatly injured.  He, with his bleeding efforts, increased gradually his company. After changing his firm's name to 'Jin Seong Food', represented a significant distinction in the industry. 

Given the attention from the market, the company started suddenly increases in size, at that time, a significant increase from the 70 pyeong to 1000 pyeongt so the Factory Land was too large. So the company's in danger of going bankrupt from lack of funds if he didn't make a deal with a new customer. He at that time had to deal with the large Tteokbokyi trading company, but he was even able to meet the normal route. He had continued to struggle, and he was in contact with the friendship of a factory on sweet pickled radishes. He visited the company and met the person in charge of and showed him his hands asked the compant to deal with him with trust. There is always a way out, so after one month  the company had accepted the deal, a large franchise company, beyond the break-even point, while  delivering a lot of quantity, and the firm had grown sharply. He has always represented the crisis as an opportunity, with his best efforts, overcome the crisis, and so he created the firm ranked No. 1 Jin Seong F&B.   

Focus on the production of 11 kinds of particular Sundae

  In Sundae of Jin Seong F&B, the quirky and innovative ideas are melted. The product with a good taste that can not be taste easily in the market. Representatives Park, with the aggressive investment costs, plenty of the ingredients and spices, is producing the various Sundae products. Even used the same material and by different processes, he creates a luxurious and elegant taste products. Main products are 11 kinds of main menu such as Nereungol chal sundae,  Abay Chal sundae, homeland sundae, Bakjindeok sundae, spicy chal sundae, the  Nereungol traditional sundae, Woogeoji sundae, spicy woogeoji sundae, Abai Wang sundae, Abai small sundae, Nereungol blood sundae etc together with pig's head food, frozen giblets, pork feet etc. He explained its advantages, even used the same material with different taste, it has luxurious and elegant taste. The subtle flavor of this F & B is the main reason why his firm has more than 20% of the market share. In addition, the company obtained HACCP certification from the Department of Food and Drug Safety on July 14. HACCP means a proactive food safety management system in order to prevent the risk harmful to the human body and is recognized as the most efficient and effective food safety management systems in the world. In other words, Jinseong F & B supplies safety and clean products to consumers, and it means that the system was recognized worldwide as the above requirements.

The firm thinking people first, Beyond the domestic market to the world market

  CEO Park having had a difficult times thinks of employees as important, makes an effort for the welfare, and is running the firm of giving priority to person. First, he  does not discriminate against foreigners and Koreans with an equal pay and equal position according to mastery of work and their working dates he proceeds personnel system. the firm itself has a pleasant residence and operate facilities and equipment for 2 people at one room, offers a total of 4 meals a day. His management of the people is shown in a little his consideration, For foreign workers, he opens the restaurant to be gathered together to eat food from home on the national holidays. He said that not only in the domestic manufacturing forward, the goal is to open the sundae franchise this year. He will enter the overseas market for export. As a way to improve the situation of poor circumstances, the tax benefits that apply to agricultural and livestock in the current government must be applied to manufacturers of sundae. He spared no pains and no advice to the government like that. Whenever the firm was threatened by a crisis, he has overcome the crisis in the forefront and weathered the crisis like a martyr. What is the next crisis come again, as he always has been so far, will overcome the crisis and will develop more than now. "There's nothing in the world you can't succeed in if you try enough to impress the heaven. His words to the modern man who thirst for success is simple, but casts a bold message.
