Choi Woohyun the CEO of Creoro is one of the leading jewelry artists who has introduced a prestigious floral decoration 'boutonniere' to the ambitious Korean businessmen through her web-gallery 'Invitation to Garden (http://www.creoro.co.kr)'. Boutonniere is unfamiliar to the Korean people but is widely used in Europe and Western culture as a decoration for a suit or jacket.


Boutonnier that gives men's heart courage and hope

The reason Choi introduced boutonnier is that there are not many decorations that go well with each of the Korean man's dignity and individuality. It is even worse in summer when men do not wear a necktie. Boutonnier is an ideal jewelry to appeal one's personality if it is put on the left chest of a suit or casual clothes. Colored stones have its own meaning such as health, success and money, and people can make a story by giving and receiving a particular stone as a gift which can be the best gift especially if they feel grateful. It is quite popular now among the general public as Choi offers them at low prices. Not only Dr. Yoon Eunki of Korea Collaboration Association is a mania of Choi's boutonnier and he always wears it when he appears on TV interviews or participates in seminars, but also an actor Lee Haeyoung, who won Dong-A Play Award 3 times, has been a fan of Choi for a long time and wears her jewelry all the time. It seems that the higher a man of social standing the more he prefers to look individual.


Choi to popularize coloured stones

Choi earned her bachelor's degree and a graduate degree in metal crafts at Hongik University. When she studied at a jewelry polytechnic school Le Arti Orafe in Italy she had a refreshing jolt; compared to Korea, where putting a decoration on clothes is a privilege of rich people, it was common in Europe and the price range was far wider. Since then Choi has made a lot of effort for the jewelry to be readily accessible to the Korean people. She also trained younger students and wrote a book 'Choi Woohyun's story of jewelry' and appeared on TV and media to explain how, when and what kind of jewel to wear. She expressed her regret that people are prejudiced jewels are expensive.

Choi always makes jewels with the best design available even when she works on relatively cheaper jewels because it damages her pride if she gives a rough design to a low-priced material. She surprised both Korea and Europe when she opened her first solo exhibition in Milan and she is opening her 23rd solo exhibition yet again in Milan from 11 September to 14 September. It is unprecedented that an Asian jewelry artist holding a solo exhibition twice in Milan. This exhibition is supported by Korea Art In Europa (KAE) and the Korean Consulate General, congratulating 130th anniversary of Korea-Italy diplomatic relations. After the exhibition in Milan, Choi is also opening an exhibition at Eve Gallery in Seoul from 18 November to 22 November. "After Europe, I would like to push myself into the US market and lead a trend as jewelry artist in New York. It is my goal to promote the top Korean artisans and designers to the world" said Choi. People refer to her as 'the first generation jewelry designer' but she does not want to be complacent and continuously develop herself.
