Park Jong Keun bakery is one of a few remaining neighborhood bakeries thankful for their existence, which bread enthusiasts should visit at least one time. Due to the volume of a enormous material superiority by the offensive franchise,  the neighborhood bakery have already turned into the place of the memories, but only  Park Jong Keun bakery is fortunately alive, even suffering from years of bitter hardships. There are franchise bakeries anywhere close to us, which led to convenience for us, the hidden side of which we may have been deprived of the right to enjoy the unique taste of the bread of a variety of bakers. 

Even though this is the time of unlimited competition, and if a child is born resembling me, if there is a bakery cherish a history and the story in the land of the Republic of Korea, to which we can go taking the child by the hand, then it is good, isn't it?

Representative Park thought that bread was worth the challenge, helping his brother's bakery, if he took chances in life. Studying under his brother for six years, he started to run the store, which was the thing 15 years ago. When I opened the bakery, there was a bakery headquarter made by the major firm across the street, but he had a spirit not to be defeated against anyone in a bead taste. "Sticking to only the best ingredients, I had to compete with a franchise of mass production, so I had many difficulties. By spending money with 30% of the material, from which they get 30% margin, but we spend at least 40% of the material, from which it is difficult to get 10% of margin." However, customers familiar with the franchise raised sensitive reaction without considering the quality and taste of the bread. Even under the profit structure in which neighborhood bakery can not survive, he has continued to get up at 3 : 50 and close the door at 23 : 30 with passion and love for the family. It was a long journey without any break except  two times holidays a year. "At one time I got order of 70 Soboro breads, and I took the phone from the customer's younger brother in America. Actually when he came to Korea he thanked me as he really enjoyed the bread. In addition, there was a case when a person who came to Korea, finishing his 10 years of his immigrant life was running to my bakery as soon as he arrived at the airport." As if there is really one million hours, the customers started to understand his sincerity, when ten years have passed. 


Constant research and aggressive development of menu

The eternal bestseller of Park Jong Keun bakery is sweet red bean buns, soboru red bean pie, puff bread, minced fresh cream soboru bread, and cheese cake etc. We are proud of filling with considerable weight, to which some bloggers named the nickname of dumbbell bread. In particular, adhering to the principle of producing  and selling breads a day. The rest of the amount of the bread is sent to the church he goes to and Nursing homes operated by the church pastor in the shopping center, and the orphanage in Sadangdong, with which he continues sharing. "In recent years, with the advice of friends he has developed new products with more than 70 kinds of medicinal plants, from which herb baguette bread and herb plain bread were newly released. With the increased interest in healthy bread, which   reaction is quite good. Of course, I wish I could sell the best seller, but I am constantly striving to develop new menu not to be falling behind in the bread circle." A lot of people tell me to run franchise business or its store, but representative Park says always that he has no plan to do that.


Under his own mix formulation, he can not promise the margins for storekeepers, and in that case he can be deprived of the hours which has to be concentrated on the Park Jong Keun bakery. "And my eldest son's dream is to be the baker in the hotel. Among the numerous occupations, why is the this hard way, I think. If he really want to be the one, I think I send him to France to study bread, and I really grow him as a master in the field of bread." At the end of the interview, representative Park added that due to the nature of the neighborhood bakeries,   all ingredients are imported from other countries except milk, butter, and eggs, the tax bill is issued, some people use credit cards even when they are buying one bread of 1600won, from which bakers have to pay a huge fee, so they are  undergoing a double torture. So he expects the realistic measures at government level.
