대한민국 성형의 미래를 선도하는 이데아 성형외과

최근 우리니라의 의료기술과 시스템은 세계적으로 탑 수준이다. 그에 비해 의료비는 선진국과 비교하여 낮기 때문에 몇 년 사이 의료관광을 목적으로 국내로 오는 관광객들이 크게 늘고 있다. 그러나 이러한 의료관광산업 활성화와 비례하여 무리한 수술로 인한 성형 부작용과 무리한 수수료를 요구하는 브로커, 브로커에 휘둘리는 병원 등 많은 사회적 문제가 대두되고 있다. 이에 올바른 성형을 가장 큰 가치로 추구하며 분야별 최고의 전문 의료진들의 실력과 첨단의료시스템, 앞선 기술력 등을 고루 인정받는 성형외과가 있어 집중 취재해 보았다. 

이데아 성형외과(권장덕 대표원장)는 이러한 성형의 사회적 문제점을 줄이고 성형외과 의사로서의 정도를 걷기 위해 대한성형외과의사회의 임원이자 12년 이상의 임상경험과 학술활동으로 인정받는 성형외과 전문의 5인이 모여 협동진료시스템을 갖춘 병원이다. 주 진료과목으로 한국 지방성형에 있어 줄기세포성형을 통한 리더로 평가받고 있는 국광식 원장의 줄기세포 재생성형, 세계가 인정한 얼굴뼈성형 전문의인 진훈 원장과 이상준 원장의 얼굴뼈성형, 주름성형 및 지방성형의 안티에이징 전문가 권성일 원장의 안티에이징, 젊은 세대의 눈코성형을 통해 스타를 만드는 권장덕 원장의 눈코성형 등으로 7명의 분야별 전문의가 있다.  이데아 성형외과는 가격을 통한 무분별한 마케팅을 지양하며 올바른 성형지식에 대한 이야기로 마케팅을 하고 있고, 개인별 맞춤진료를 통한 전문의들의 협동 진료시스템을 통해 수준 높은 의료서비스를 제공하고 있다. 또한 의료관광의 높은 비율을 차지하는 중국인 관광객들에게 올바른 정보를 알려주기 위해서 중국 바이두에 홈페이지를 개설하여 의사와의 직접 채팅을 통해 상담이 가능하게 하였다. 병원에서도 동시통역이 가능한 직원이 상시 대기하고 있으며, 중국 내에 협력병원을 통해 후처치를 받을 수 있도록 MOU를 체결하여 중국환자들의 부작용을 최소화 하기위해 최선을 다하고 있다. 이러한 선진화된 의료서비스 때문에 전체 환자의 20%가 외국인 고객이며 병원의 신뢰도가 더욱 높아지고 있다. 

성형의 부작용에 따른 국내외적 문제의 해결책 제시해

이데아 성형외과의 활약과는 별개로 현재 성형에 따른 부작용에 관한 사회적 문제는 국내뿐만 아니라 중국에서도 연일 한국성형의 문제점에 대해서 보도 되고 있다. 이 점에 대해서 권 원장은 “일부 부도덕한 브로커들과 병원들의 사례 때문에 피해를 본 중국관광객들이 집중 조명되고 있다.” 며 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서 정확한 정보를 전달하는 것과 외국인들을 진료할 수 있는 전문의들의 자격요건을 제도적으로 강화 시키는 게 필요하다고 말했다. 물론 가장 중요한 것은 영리만을 추구하는 일부 부도덕한 병원들이 사라져야 한다고 당부했다. 이러한 것들이 해결되지 않으면 하나씩 모인 부작용 사례가 험한 감정으로 이어질 수도 있기 때문일 것이다. 권 원장은 외모 지상주의 때문에 대중화된 국내의 상황에 대해서도 조언을 아끼지 않았다. “요즘 성형수술을 마치 물건을 파는 것처럼 시즌마다 세일 혹은 이벤트를 해서 환자를 끌어들인다. 이러한 공장화된 일부 대형병원이 사회적 문제를 일으키고 있다. 성형수술은 시즌OFF 한 옷이나 상품처럼 가격에 따라 똑같은 제품으로 취급할 수 없다.” 고 말했다. 치료 목적이 아닌 성형수술이 꼭 필요한 사람은 없기 때문에 이러한 상업적 마인드가 사회적 부작용을 야기하고 있다는 의견이다.

Suggesting a new direction of medical tour with simultaneous interpretation and convenient facilities for foreign patients and so on

Recently, the level of Korean medical quality and system is top in the world. However, compared to the reputation, the price for the medical system is relatively low rather than advanced countries, so the number of tourists for that purpose has been increasing for a few last years. But still, by increasing this activation of this medical tour industry, there are rising social issues such as plastic surgery side effects, brokers who ask too much commission and hospitals suffered by those brokers. For that, here, we are intensively reporting a plastic surgery hospital that is recognized by their top class specialists’ capability and advanced techniques they have with seeking for the most value is a righteous plastic surgery. 

IDEA clinic (Head of Directors, Dr. Kwon, Jang-Deok) is a hospital by running with five doctors who are board members of Korean Plastic Surgery Association and have more than 12 years’ clinical experiences and academic activities, collaboratively, so as to reduce those kinds of social problems and keep up with a right track. As for major medical subjects, they are 7 sections like a stem cell reproduction plastic surgery by Dr. Gook, Gwang-Sik who is accepted as a leader of lipo-suction plastic surgery throughout stem cells, a facial bone surgery by Dr. Jin, Hoon and Dr. Lee, Sang-Joon who are specialists for facial bone specialists renowned by the world, an anti-aging treatment by Dr. Kwon, Seong-Il who is professional for wrinkles and fat and a eyes-nose plastic surgery by Dr. Kwon, Jang-Deok who is making young generation’s star figures. 

IDEA clinic has been rejecting thoughtless marketing promotion nothing but keeping a storytelling about correct knowledge of plastic surgery and they are providing an excellent medical service by that collaborative medical system via personalized treatment. Also, to inform Chinese clients who are at high portion of their patients throughout a medical tour, they opened the homepage at ‘baidu’ website so that they can consult with a doctor they want to chat with directly. In clinic, there are staff who can interpret for foreign patients at all times, so it is very convenient and comfortable to be there. Besides, they are doing the best to take care of their patients to minimize the side effects after surgery by the MOU with a cooperative clinic in China. Due to that kind of medical service, about 20% of their patients is foreigners and the reliability of the hospital is getting higher. 

Suggesting the solution of side-effects out of plastic surgery nationally and internationally 

Talking about the side effects out of the plastic surgery at the moment in and out, apart from IDEA Clinic’s reputation, it became a social problem and it is not only Korea but also China. It is about problems about Korean plastic surgery. Dr. Kwon said about this point. “It was just focused on Chinese victims because of immoral brokers and clinical people.” He talked about that it is necessary for foreign patients to let them know correct information and to reinforce the condition of being a specialist institutionally. Of course, he added the most important this is that unethical hospitals which are only looking for making profits have to be disappeared. Without solving the problems, it could be worse and brutal as a result. On the other hand, he didn’t mind advising about Korean situation, which is taking a plastic surgery is popular due to the lookism in society. “Nowadays, many clinics are bringing more patients by sale-off or events every season like selling the products. Like some factorized hospitals are causing lots of social problems. As for a plastic surgery, it cannot be treated as same item like a season-off clothes or other product.” As there is nobody who needs a plastic surgery unlike for the purpose of treatment, commercial minds cause some social problems.

From the interview with Dr. Kwon, I could know about some wrong plastic surgery culture and the solutions of them and think of the true meaning of the plastic surgery over and over. Dr. Kwon was determined to do his best to make a healthy plastic surgery culture in Korea and build up the correct knowledge of that, from now on. Moreover, IDEA clinic got the grand prix of plastic surgery from Korea Best Brand Awards. Hopefully, IDEA clinic will keep having a great future since they are suggesting a new direction of Korean medical tour programs with adding the value to their world class medical service system and technique.
