김민경의 아르 브뤼 스타일의 사랑

뒤뷔페는 어린아이들의 드로잉이나, 슬럼가의 벽에 아무렇게나 그려진 낙서, 교육을 받지 않은 사람들의 개인적 경험이나 그들의 기록에 깊은 관심을 그림으로 표현했다. 늦게 시작한 무명화가 시절 마치 아이들의 그림처럼 어설프게 장난해 놓은 듯한 화풍으로 전시를 열어 엄청난 스캔들을 불러 일으켰고, 마침내 이런 아웃사이더 그림들에 대한 예술적 평가가 이루어져 화제가 되었다.
김민경의 작품을 보면 우리는 자연스럽게 아르브뤼 미술에 장 뒤뷔페의 작품이 떠오른다. 표현과 주제를 다루는 방법에 있어서는 다르지만 김민경 작품의 본연의 주제는 모자라는 느낌의 <그래, 난 바보다>이다.
이 명제에서 보듯이 그녀의 그림들은 아들을 향한 무한애의 사랑과 지극히 모성애적인 뜨거움에서 출발한다. 그녀의 그림에는 온통 모성애적인 표현과 이야기가 전부를 이룬다. 당연히 그 대상도 자식이라고 명명하듯 아들이다. 그녀의 진짜 아들을 향한 이 그림들의 목적은 엄마의 눈을 통한, 아이를 위한 엄마의 말 건넴과 그 마음의 전달을 위한 메신저로서 그림이다.
그에게 그림속의 표정과 등장하는 인물들이 자비롭고 사랑스러운 표정인 이유도 바로 그 이유이다. 그녀에게 아들에게 말을 건네는 이러한 행위는 다양하게 너무나 따뜻하게 표현된다. 때로는 자애롭게 대로는 친구처럼 오글거릴 정도로 사랑스럽기조차 하다.
그는 이 멈출 수 없는 엄마의 마음들을 작품 속에 붓과 손으로 칠하고 붙이고 나이프로 긁어내고 오브제들을 붙여 그 사랑스러움의 표현을 완벽하게 콜라주 형식을 빌려 조형화 시킨다. 그리고 거기에는 그녀가 가장 좋아하고 종종 화면에서 사용하는 트레이드마크 같은 무당벌레를 등장 시킨다. 여기에서 무당벌레는 그녀에게 행복을 안고 날아다니는 사랑과 평화의 아이콘이다. 동시에 이 상징적인 무당벌레는 모두에게 행복을 전해주기 위해 그녀가 화폭에 붙들어 높은 마스코트이다.(중략)
오늘도 작가는 그 지극한 모정의 뜨거움을 화폭에서 사랑을 선물한다. 그녀에게 ‘Ladybug'는 이렇게 상징적인 아이콘이다. 그녀가 진정 화폭에서 말하려는 행복은 다소 이례적이기는 하지만 그녀가 스스로를 바보라고 생각하는데서 오는 행복이다. 그러나 자세히 보면 그녀의 화법은 두 가지로 나타난다. 하는 동화에서 봄직한 동화적 표현이다. 커다란 동물과 아기새끼 같은 보듬는 사랑스러운 유형이 그것이고, 또 하나는 명화를 패러디한 보다 모던한 마네의 올랭피아와 반 아이크의 아르노 피니의 결혼의 초상 등으로 상상력이 가미된 변화 등이 그것이다. 이런 변화를 통해서 김민경의 그임은 아르브뤼의 드로잉과 같기도 하며 낙서 같기도 한 선에서 한층 의미 있게 전달하고자 하는 패러디 쪽으로 변주를 시도하는 철학적 경향을 띈다.(중략)
이제 김민경의 작품은 표현이나 색채, 스토리에서 매우 자연스러운 모성의 성스러움을 충실하게 형상화 한다. 회화라는 기성관념에 크게 사로잡히지 않고, 어쩌면 그는 진정한 사랑의 기술에 대하여 창조성을 두고 있음이 틀림없다. 그래서 그녀의 작품에 사랑이 주는 놀라운 창조성의 순수한 형태가 소박하고 꾸밈없이 빛나는 것이다. 특히 타오르는 모성이 넘쳐나는 정열은 어떤 작가의 작품에서 볼 수 없는 유연한 형태들이 돋보이고 넘쳐흐른다. 이 축복이야말로 예술이 주는 인간의 순수한 내적 충동의 선물인 것이다.

마음속에서 나갈까말까 망설이는 두근거림처럼 마음이 부르도록 감정이라는 녀석들을 우울이든 행복이든 편애하지 않고 마구 먹어버리고 싶다. 그저 그렇게 먹어버린 감정들이 토해내듯 색으로 캔버스에 뛰놀게 한다.
남들은 그림 같은 집을 꿈꾸지만 난 집 같은 그림을 꿈꾸고 남들은 손에 잡힐 듯 말 듯 한 것이 꿈이라지만 난 꿈을 꽉 움켜잡고 붓질을 할 뿐이다. 난 행복을 지겹도록 이야기해서 결국엔 내 것으로 만들어 버리자고 외치는 행복에 미친 예술가인 Ladybug다. 그게 바로 나, Fulliche이다.
Fulliche Kim love for the Art brut Style

Jean Dubuffet expressed his interest in children’s drawings, graffiti on walls in the slum, uneducated people’s experiences and their records in depth. While he was a nameless artist and also, he started painting late compared to other artists, he brought out a remarkable hot new artist with a pictorial style like children paint awkwardly as a play and, because of that, eventually, the view of that kind of outsiders of artists and paintings had become a critical issue in art. When looking Kim, Min-Kyung’s works, we naturally think of Jean Dubuffet’s works from the Art brut genre. It is different for a way to deal with the expression and subject but her works has some deficiency. It feels there is something missing, so it is called, <Yes, I am a fool>.
In her paintings, things are full of maternal instinct expression and story. Absolutely, the object is a son as a child. The purpose of these paintings for her real son is a talk from mother for her child via her eyes and a messenger to show. The reason of faces and characters in the paintings are at mercy and lovely in expression is because of that. The behavior to talk to her son is described in many ways and looks very hearty. Sometimes, it looks too much love for her son as if you might feel embarrassed.
She is making her art works by painting, attaching and scratching objects with brushes, hands and knives out of mother’s heart, which is unstoppable in a combination. And, in there, there is a ladybug as a trademark, which she loves. Ladybugs are the flying icon of love and peace to her. At the same time, they are the mascot for her to put them down in canvas to give all the people happiness. (Ellipsis) Today, this artist is giving love as a gift with her infinite maternal instinct hotness. To her, ‘Ladybug’ is a symbolic icon like that much. Happiness that she wants to say in canvas is not an usual topic but, it is happiness from an idea that she thinks herself a fool. However, if you look at them very carefully, there are two ways to understand her works. One is a kind of expressed fairly tale. It is that big animals and their care of their babies as a lovely pattern and the other is a change with her imagination, which is her parodies of far modern and notable paintings like Edouard Manet’s <l'Olympia> and Jan van Eyck’s <The Arnolfini Marriage>. Throughout the change, Kim, Min-Kyung’s paintings are like the drawings of the Art brut or graffiti. In another word, it seems there is a philosophical intention to try to twist toward parody in order to deliver something in a more meaningful method. (Ellipsis) Now, Kim, Min-Kyung’s artworks have been formed with loyalty for the blessing of a natural maternal instinct in expression, colors and stories. Perhaps, she must have creativity for the true love of skill. Therefore, the amazing creativity in a pure shape, which love is giving and that is shining humbly and innocently. Especially, burning maternal love and passion are only from her, which is hard to find from other artists are flowing down flexibly and looking great. This god’s blessing is the inner humane impulse’s gift by art.

Like feeling pounding for hesitation to go out or not in mind, I would like to tuck emotions such happiness or depression in my mouth without any discrimination. And, like spewing these emotions I had in that way, I let them play on canvas.
Others are dreaming of beautiful houses like a picture, but I dream of paintings like home and just brush them with holding the dream tightly. However, they say dream is not a thing they can grab it or not easily. I am a crazy artist, Ladybug, who is screaming out to have the happiness as I talk about it to death. That is me; ‘Fulliche’ is what I am.
