설립 4년만에 회원 수 5만5000명 돌파
투자자문 업계에서 여성 파워를 과시하고 있는 빌(Bill)플러스(이하 빌플러스)의 윤순숙 회장은 국내 1호이자 유일의 여성 종합상담사다. 지난 2010년 ‘고객의 풍요로운 삶을 위한 작지만 강한 투자자문 집단’을 만들겠다는 비전으로 설립된 빌플러스는 별다른 홍보없이 오직 입소문만으로 최근 회원 수 5만5000명을 넘어섰다. 현재 장기화된 불황 속에서 재테크 전략에 목마른 개인 투자자들이 윤 회장과의 상담을 원하고 있지만, 최근 대기인원이 크게 늘어나면서 미리 예약을 해야만 간신히 미팅이 성사되고 있는 상황이다. 그녀가 이렇게 높은 인기를 구가하며 각광을 받는 데에는 여성 특유의 섬세함이 큰 강점으로 작용한 것으로 보인다. 모두가 투자자문 분야는 금녀의 구역이라 말했지만, 그녀는 누구보다도 꼼꼼하게 시장의 흐름을 파악하고, 누구보다도 세심하게 고객의 마음을 읽어 나간다. “개인이 기관 혹은 전문가들과 싸워 이기기란 결코 쉬운 일이 아니죠. 투자자라면 적어도 하루 4∼5시간은 종목 분석에 매달려야 하는데 시간적으로도 힘들고, 당장의 수익이 나지 않는 것에 대한 심리적인 압박감도 높기 마련입니다. 사실 어려운 주식투자를 쉽게 하는 것이 돈을 버는 비결인데, 저는 그 노하우를 전수하는 것이 제 맡은 바 소임이라고 생각합니다.”
충북 충주에서 태어난 윤 회장은 충주여상(현 한림디자인고)을 졸업한 뒤 1982년부터 10년간 임가공 무역회사를 이끌었던 남다른 이력의 소유자다. 당시 ‘1000원 숍’을 대유행시키며 유통업으로 하루 1,000만원씩 수익을 내기도 했을 만큼 탁월한 안목을 소유하고 있기도 하다. 또한 그녀에게는 이미 초등학교 4학년 때부터 직접 캔 나물이나 집에서 재배하던 땅콩을 장에 가져다 팔면서 축적되어 왔던 튼튼한 경제관념이 있었다. 그렇게 모은 돈으로 어린 나이에 천안 일대에 조그만 땅을 사기도 했다니 투자계의 신동이라 말해도 과언은 아닐 것이다. 이후 경기 이천과 성남시 분당, 서울 등지에 땅을 매입한 그녀는 도시개발 붐이 일면서 꽤 큰돈을 모으게 된다. 무역업과 유통업에 이어 부동산에서도 강한 면모를 보였던 것이다. 이후 본격적으로 주식에 입문한 윤 회장은 무한한 가능성을 가진 주식의 세계에 빠져들어 괄목할 만한 성과를 도출하며 다년간 자신만의 노하우를 쌓아 나갔다.
기법보다 교양과 인문학적 지식을 전달하는데 주력
윤 회장은 매일 투자상담을 비롯한 재테크 강의일정으로 바쁜 나날을 보내고 있다. 하지만 성공적인 재테크로 100세 시대를 대비하려는 사람들과 만나 자신만의 노하우를 전수하는 것은 언제나 즐거운 일이라 힘든 줄도 모르고 달리는 여정이라고 말한다. 특히 자신을 잘 믿고 따라와 준 고객들이 좋은 투자 성과를 낼 때 가장 큰 보람을 느낀다고 했다. 이렇듯 명성이 자자한 윤 회장의 강의는 쉽고 이해가 빠르다고 정평이 나 있다. “제 명함 뒤에는 머리가 없는 행운의 여신상 사진이 있어요. 제가 이 사진을 쓰는 이유는 개인 투자자들이 본인들이 기존에 아는 지식들은 버려두고 깨끗한 상태로 주식투자를 새롭게 시작해야 하는 이유를 설명하기 위해서죠. 저는 주식투자가 생각보다 단순하다는 것을 인지시켜 주고 싶어요. 투자 전문가들에 대한 믿음으로 조급한 마음을 버리고 장기적으로 투자하다 보면 누구나 좋은 성적을 거둘 수 있습니다.”
윤 회장은 기존의 투자상담사들과 달리 회원들에게 차트 분석하는 법 등의 ‘기교’를 잘 가르쳐 주지 않는다. 차트를 보고 일차원적으로 투자여부를 선택하는 습관을 권장하고 싶지 않다는 것이 그녀의 의지다. 소위 테마주, 폭등주에 300만원 이상 투자를 금지하는 것도 같은 맥락에서다. 오히려 윤 회장의 강의는 차트 분석 등의 기교보다는 동양철학을 바탕으로 한 삶에 대한 진지한 성찰과 행복해질 수 있는 습관 등에 대한 교육에 좀 더 치중한다. ‘인성이 좋아야 부자가 될 수 있다’, ‘탐욕을 버려야 성공할 수 있다’는 철학을 가지고 있는 그녀는 주식강의를 옛날 이야기에 접목시켜 주식투자에 앞서 바른 마음가짐을 가질 수 있도록 도와준다. “저마다 투자에 성공한 이유는 다양하겠지만, 투자에 실패한 이유는 단 하나죠. 모두 과도하게 욕심을 부렸기 때문입니다. 간혹 ‘저 사람은 잘되는데 난 왜 이래’라고 한탄만 하는 사람들을 보게 되는데, 남이 잘되는 것에 시기하지 말고 남의 성공을 긍정적인 자극으로 흡수해야만 해요. 상대가 ‘얼마를 벌었나?’가 아니라 ‘어떻게 성공하게 되었는가?’를 살펴보면 그 속에 찾던 답이 있을 겁니다.” 현재 빌플러스에서는 매주 토요일 오후 1시, 일요일 오후 3시부터 분당 오리역 1호점에서 현금 소득을 올리는 자산증식 혁신 5단계에 관련된 강의를 진행하고 있다. 실제 성공적으로 수익을 올린 주인공들과 만남의 시간도 준비되어 있다고 하니 개인 투자자들에게는 더없이 반가운 소식이 될 것이다.
투자 수익금은 재투자하지 않고 저축할 것
윤 회장은 개인 투자자들에게 투자 수익금은 절대로 재투자하지 않는다는 원칙을 세우라고 강조한다. 대신 그녀는 투자를 통해 얻은 수익금을 5개의 통장에 저축할 것을 권장한다. “우선 저는 투자자들이 태어난 음력 생일에 맞춰 행운의 숫자를 부여합니다. 예를 들어 생일이 음력 1월인 사람은 주역에 따르면 행운의 숫자가 4가 됩니다. 그러면 그 사람은 4만원씩 10개월간 한 통장에만 저축을 하게 하죠. 10개월 후 40만원이 모이면 똑같이 10개월간 다른 한 통장에만 저축하도록 하고, 이런 방식으로 5개의 통장을 모두 채울 때까지 장기적으로 저축을 하는 원리입니다.” 이때 가장 중요한 것은 한 통장을 채울 때 마다 스스로를 칭찬해 주는 일이라고 한다. 또한 통장 하나를 만들었을 때보다 두 개를 만들었을 때, 두 개 만들었을 때보다는 세 개를 만들었을 때 칭찬의 강도를 높이는 것이 필요하다. 이로써 투자에 대한 성취감을 높이고, 돈에 대한 소중함을 느낄 수 있다는 것이 그녀의 설명이다. “무엇보다 재산 증식에 대한 꿈을 구체적으로 꾸는 것이 중요하죠. 그 속에서 단계적으로 목표를 성취하고 그런 자신을 칭찬해주는 일련의 과정을 반복하다 보면 어느새 목표한 결과를 도출해 낼 수 있게 됩니다.”
이런 원칙 하에 빌플러스는 고객들이 장기적인 안목으로 자산을 증식할 수 있도록 기여해 왔다. 최근에는 회원들에게 SK텔레콤과 한국전력에 투자하도록 권유해 각각 연간 66%, 50%의 수익을 달성하였고, 4.7%의 배당수익까지 벌어다 줬다. 이외에도 15년간 수익 배당이 10억원이 넘은 사례를 비롯해 5개월간 13억원, 10년간 8억원, 3개월간 900만원 등 놀랄 만한 사례들도 비일비재하다. 현재 빌플러스에서는 회원들의 투자실적을 100% 공개하고 있어 이 같은 사례들이 허언이 아님을 증명해 보이고 있다. 한편 윤 회장은 올해 주도주를 매집해서 3년 안에 최소 500% 수익을 올린다는 목표를 세우고 있으며, 이미 10년 후의 플랜도 마련되어 있다고 전했다.
어린이 경제교육은 빠르면 빠를수록 좋다
윤 회장은 지금껏 한결같이 어린이 경제교육의 중요성을 강조해왔다. 세계경제를 좌지우지하고 있는 유태인들이 부를 축적할 수 있었던 가장 큰 비결은 바로 어린이에게 중점적으로 실시하는 경제교육에 있다고 판단하기 때문이다. 세계적인 부호이자 주식투자의 귀재인 워렌 버핏 역시 투자의 적기를 묻는 열 살짜리 어린 아이에게 “투자는 빠르면 빠를수록 좋다”고 답한 바 있다. “제겐 늦둥이 딸이 있는데, 그 애가 서너 살이 되었을 때 이미 경제교육을 시작했어요. 그때 따로 예금통장을 하나 만들어 줬고, 예닐곱 살이 되면서 한글을 깨치게 되었을 때는 아예 함께 은행에 가서 주식계좌를 열어 주었죠. 부모는 수동적으로 돈을 벌어다 주는 것이 아니라, 자녀들이 스스로 돈을 모을 수 있는 능력을 갖추도록 적극적으로 경제교육을 실시해야만 합니다.”
윤 회장이 강조하는 경제교육은 돈을 직접 주고 받는 형식의 경제교육이 아니라 시장놀이를 통해 경제가 무엇인가를 알려주는 가상 경제교육의 형태다. 가상 경제교육을 통해 스스로 경제개념을 이해하고 올바른 소비습관을 익힐 수 있다는 것이 평소 윤 회장의 지론이다. 특히 딸과의 가상 시장놀이는 물물교환의 방식으로 진행되고 있다. “아이는 성장하면서 필요한 책과 계절마다 필요한 옷을 가지기 위해 자신의 장난감을 하나씩 시장에 내다 팔며 경제 개념을 익히고 있어요. 경제가 순환하는 원리를 파악하면서부터는 장난감을 사달라고 무작정 생떼를 쓰지도 않았고, 오히려 자신의 물건을 소중하게 다루게 되었어요. 이런 것이 바로 살아있는 교육의 효과라 할 수 있겠죠.” 그녀는 아이가 이러한 교육과정을 통해 절약한 돈을 가지고 아이와 함께 은행으로 가서 직접 저축을 하게 한다. 그렇게 저축한 돈이 불어나면 다시 주식계좌를 만들어준다. 이러한 일련의 과정 속에서 아이들은 경제개념과 투자의 중요성을 익힐 수 있는 것이다. 이렇듯 어린 시절 경제교육의 중요성은 굉장히 중요하다. 작금의 ‘청년백수’가 문제되는 이유도 여기에서 찾을 수 있다.
앞으로 윤 회장은 ‘어린이 경제 캠페인’을 통해서 자신만의 경제 노하우를 아이들을 상대로 교육해 나갈 방침이다. 이로써 어린이들이 올바른 경제관념을 세우고 나아가 대한민국의 발전에 기여할 수 있도록 건강하게 성장하기를 소망하고 있다. 그러기 위해서는 무엇보다 정부 차원에서 적극적으로 어린이들의 경제교육을 담당해야 한다고 윤 회장은 덧붙였다.
지속적인 사회 환원을 통해 모범적 리더의 모습 보여줄 터
윤 회장의 최종 목표는 ‘어린이부터 노인에 이르기까지 전 국민이 주식 1인1구좌를 개설하는 것’이라고 한다. 이를 위해 그녀는 현재 자신만의 주식투자 노하우가 더 많은 사람들에게 전수될 수 있도록 저서를 집필 중에 있다. 또한 유튜브와 브라운관을 통해서도 강의를 진행하고 있으며, 교육용 CD(최고의 유산, 최고의 아내, 최고의 어린이 경제교육)도 제작 및 판매되고 있는 실정이다. 특히 교육용 CD는 투자기법을 비롯한 경제교육 자료로써 중국어와 영어로 번역되어 수출될 전망이다. “최근에는 투자영역을 확대해 기술지주사와 투자자, 상호 간의 소통을 이끌어내고 각자의 이해관계를 조율하여 더 큰 경제적 효과를 획득하는데 제가 기꺼이 그 가교역할을 해내려 합니다.” 그 시작단계로 윤 회장은 지난 4월 ‘SG NOBLE(에스지 노블)’로 유명한 CS바이오텍 조수영 회장과 업무협력 양해각서(MOU)를 체결하기도 했다. 조 회장의 사람 중심, 자연주의 경영철학에 공감을 표하는 그녀는 현재 ‘SG NOBLE’ 광고의 모델로도 활약 중이다.
이렇듯 윤 회장이 꿈꾸는 미래는 모든 사람들이 행복한 삶을 영위하는 세상이다. 이를 위해서는 성공을 이룬 계층에서부터 나눔이 실천되어야 한다는 것이 그녀의 생각이다. 실제로 윤 회장은 현재까지 100억원 이상을 기부를 통해 사회에 환원해 오며 모범적 리더의 모습을 보여왔다. “주변에서 그 많은 돈을 벌어서 도대체 어디에 쓰냐고 많이들 물어보시죠. 저와 저희 남편은 한 번도 불우이웃과 소외된 장애인을 돕는 일, 문화예술지원에 소홀한 적이 없었어요. 특히 어린이 경제교육이 중요한 만큼 그 다음은 우리 청소년들입니다. 모교인 충주여상에 다닐 때 교장선생님으로 계셨던 임승규 이사장님의 가르침이 어린 시절 제게 큰 공감을 남겨주셨죠. 지금까지 그랬듯이 청소년의 꿈과 모교발전을 위한 지원도 아끼지 않을 겁니다. 저희는 ‘워렌 버핏’의 말처럼 성공의 완성은 나눔에 있다고 믿고 있습니다.” 윤 회장은 앞으로도 더욱 다양한 기부활동을 통해 지속적인 사회 환원을 이어나갈 것을 약속했다. 자신이 어렵게 이룩한 성공을 기꺼이 우리 이웃들과 함께 나누어 왔던 윤순숙 회장의 인자한 미소 속에서 이 시대가 진정으로 원하는 글로벌 리더의 진면목을 찾아볼 수 있었다.
Korea’s First Female Investment Consultant Leading Investment Sector

With a slogan of ‘Prepared Female President’, president Park Geun-hye became the first female president in the Korean history, garnering more than 16 million votes in the last presidential election. Since her inauguration, female politicians both in the ruling and the opposition parties have made remarkable performance and are expected to distinguish themselves in the upcoming local election. Furthermore, women have exerted outstanding leadership in economic, education and cultural arena, illustrating enhanced social status of them. Against this backdrop, a female in investment consultant is gaining attention within the industry. PowerKorea interviewed Yoon Soon-suk, president of Bill Plus to hear more on her advice on successful investment.
Gaining 55,000 Clients In 4 Years Of Company Establishment
Yoon is the first and the only female investment consultant. With a vision of making a small but strong investment consultant group for bringing a client an affluent life, she established the company in 2010. Without involving in special promotion strategies, the company only depended on a viral marketing and gained 55,000 clients.
Amid long-term economic recession, many individual investors keenly interested in enhancing investment techniques expressed intentions of going to her for consultation. However, they have to make a reservation in advance due to her busy schedules. Her sensibility as a female consultant served as a big advantage of earning strong trust from clients. Everybody said woman would not survive in investment consultation sector. To break this deep-rooted prejudice, she tried to meticulously grasp the situation in stock market and understand what clients had in their mind.
“It was not easy at all for individual investors to win a fierce battle against institutional investors or financial experts. As a stock investor, he or she should devote at least 4 to 5 hours a day to stock analysis. Realistically, pouring time is daunting and pressures resulting from no immediate profit are enormous than imagined. Making investment easy is a secret to earning money. My role is to deliver them easy-to-understand know-hows on stock investment.” she said.
Graduating from Choongju Girls Business High School, she once owned a tall processing company for 10 years. By making ‘1 dollar shop’ a mega hit with her outstanding sense, she even achieved 10 million Won sales a day.
She was economically savvy even when she was a teenage girl by selling seasoned vegetables or peanuts to the local market. With the money earned by selling them, she even purchased a small land within the city at such an early age. It is not exaggerated to say she was a prodigy in investment. As urban development boom hit the nation, she eared a huge money. Since then, she has involved in stock investment and accumulated her own know-hows on investment by making a remarkable achievements.
Focusing On Delivering Humane Knowledge
She has hectic schedules filled with investment consultation and lectures. But she does not feel tiresome as it is pleasant for her to deliver people interested in investment her own know-hows. She feels especially rewarding when she heard her clients who trusted her made a good performance. Her lectures are known to be easy to understand.
“On the backside of my business card, there is the Goddess of fortune without her head. The reason I use this is to say my clients that they need to clean their own head with their own knowledge and restart investment. I would like to help them to feel easy to investment. With trust in investment experts like her, anyone can make a good return with long-term perspective.
Unlike other consultants, she does not simply teach them how to analyze a chart. This is because she does not want to recommend them to make an investment decision just by analyzing it. She also prohibits investing more than 3 mn Won in so-called high-risk stock items. Rather than techniques on chart analysis, her lectures are focused more on sincere consideration on life and habits of making us happy based on Eastern philosophy. She has a philosophy that one can make a success without greed and become rich with good personalities. By integrating these philosophies with the lectures, she helps them to form a right attitude.
“Everyone has a different way of making a success in investment. However, there is only one reason for failure. That is excessive greed. There are some people who blame themselves on failure. What is needed for these people is to have positive mind. They should focus on how did they succeed rather than how much they earned.” said she. Bill Plus holds a lecture on how to make asset increase at their office in Bundang on every weekends. It will be definitely good news for individual investors as they can meet those who made a success in investment.
Save Return On Investment
According to her, individual investors should avoid to make investment on their return. Instead, she recommends to save them on 5 separate bankbook.
Depending on their birth month, investors can make a saving with different amount. For example, those who were born in April can make saving of 40,000 Won for 10 months period. If the period comes, they can transfer the deposit to another bankbook. The goal is to have them develop a habit of long-term saving. The most important thing is to praise themselves whenever the deposit goes to mature. By doing so, they can raise a sense of achievement on investment and also learn a value of money.
“It is important to have a specific goal in terms of increasing asset. By achieving a short-term goal, they could find their goals already attained.” she said.
With this principle, Bill Plus has contributed to increasing their clients’ asset with long-term perspective. Recommendations on investing in SK Telecom and Korea Electric Power Corporation brought clients annual profit of 66% and 50% respectively and dividend earning of 4.7%. An investor could have dividend earning of 1 bn Won for 15 years. Others have 1.3 bn Won for 5 months, 800 mn Won for 10 years and 9 mn Won for 3 months. These are only a few examples of remarkable success. Investment performance are open to the public, proving them these are not exaggerated. She set a goal of reaching at least 500% profit within 3 years by purchasing leading stocks. She said she had established a plan for the next 10 years,
Sooner the Better, Economic Education For Children
She has consistently highlighted the importance of economic education for children. The biggest secret behind the enormous accumulation of wealth by the Jews lied with early economic education focused on children. Warren Buffet, the world’s richest man and the greatest investor also responded to a child who asked him about the best age for making investment : make investment from as early age as possible.
“I have a daughter. I started teaching her economic education when she reached 3 years. I made her a deposit note. When she became seven, I brought her to a bank and opened a stock account for her. Parents should not be a passive agent of giving them money. Instead, they should actively teach economic education so that they can develop ability of making money by themselves.” she said.
What she is doing is teaching through virtual economic education. Through it, she can help her daughter to understand economic concept and develop a right consumption habit from early age. This is done by a way of barter.
“In order to purchase books and clothes she needs, she has to exchange her toys in return for them. With this, she can understand the principle of how economy is circulated. So she does not pester me to buy things and naturally learns the value of her belongings. This is an effect of education.” she said.
With the money she had saved, she brings her daughter to a bank and has her daughter save the money by herself. When the money increases, she opens a stock account for her. In these series of process, children can learn the importance of money and investment. This illustrates the importance of early economic education as well.
By staging an education campaign for children, she is planning to teach them her own economic know-hows. She looks forward to seeing them grow to contribute to the society. For this, economic education for children should be carried out at a government level.
Becoming Exemplary Leader Through Consistent Social Contribution
Her ultimate goal is to help all Koreans from a child to a senior to open their own stock account. For this, she is working on publishing books on her unique know-hows. Her lectures can be watched on YouTube and TV programs and also delivered in CD. Lectures delivered in CD format including investment techniques are also expected to be translated in Chinese and English for export. Expanding investment area, she is serving as a bridge between a technology firm and an investor. In this regard, the company signed a memorandum of understanding with CS Bio Tech in last April. Empathizing with the human and nature-oriented business philosophy of CS Bio Tech, she is working as a model for the product advertisement.
What she dreams of future is to make a world where everyone lives a happy life.
For this, shared prosperity should be promoted and initiated by successful people. By investing more than 10 bn Won as of now, she showed a exemplary model as a socially-contributing leader.
“Many people say to me where I spend a huge fortune. I and my husband are enthusiastic for helping disadvantaged and physically-challenged people in society. As I put much importance on early economic education, the next priority is teenagers. The principle of the highschool to which I attended give me a big lesson. As I have been, I will continue to invest in the potential of young students. As Warren Buffet said, the completion of success is in sharing” she said.
She pledged to continue donations to contributing to society. Through her gentle smile, we could see what picture a true global leader should be in this era.
