Korean and the U.S. national leaders visit the Combined Forces Command.

On 26 last month, President Park Geun-hye, together with US president Obama who was on the 2nd day of official visit to Korea, called at the South Korea-US Combined Forces Command (CFC), a symbol of the bilateral alliance. This is the first time that the leaders of both countries visited CFC together since the creation of the Combined Forces Command in 1978. Both leaders¡¯ visit here to encourage the CFC soldiers who are devoted to the defense of the Korean Peninsula has a very important meaning in the respect of confirming a firm attitude of the combined defense based on solid Korea-US alliance. Both leaders heard the present condition of defense posture from the commander of CFC Scaparrotti and clarified a strong will to cope resolutely should the North Korea attempt a provocation. At this day¡¯s visit of CFC, Korean minister of National Defense Kim Gwan-jin and chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff Choi and, from the US side, ambassador to Korea Sung Kim and National Safety advisor Rice accompanied their president with the commander of CFC, major high rankers and soldiers.
